Check-in for any animals travelling is a long and painful process. We recommend all pet travellers to ensure they have booked their pets before they organise their own trip.
Animals have special requirements and in most cases cannot change airlines, transits need minimum 3-4 hours at the airport before the next flight. Selection for flights are based on direct routes with if possible no overnights.
Requirement below are there to help, please contact us if you have issues not covered below.
BEFORE DEPARTURE Please make sure you have reviewed all details of your pet transport. REX drivers will be 10 minutes before pick-up time to help review the documents and check the skybox, make sure it has a cover, water container and no floating objects. A boarding document will need to be signed before the driver leaves for the airport or destination.
RESIDENCE-AIRPORT The transport of an animal is a lot more difficult than you may beleive. Driver are not regular truck drivers, as animals are NOT regular freight. You cannot apply your brakes just like that, you do not take off or jerk the truck as you see fit. A driver must be trained to cover all situations while transporting. Coming to a stop or light, you retrograde and apply the brake so lightly that you arrive at the STOP without any movement. Try it! this is why animal comfort is essential to our drivers.
AIRPORT CHECK Once at the airport, our agents review the different papers provided by the client and prepares the stickers for the skyboxes. Once water has been provided, then the paperwork is submitted to the airline for yet another review. At this time the pets are transferedto the animal station if available (certain airports do not have animal stations).
IMPORTANT Due to the specific environment of animals, all flights are pre-paid 5 days minimum before the flight.
