I. CUSTOMS & CLEARANCE ----------------------- Congratulation, your pet is now a Swiss Pet. You have just received the original paperwork your pet travelled to Switzerland with. You need to follow the procedures for your pet to travel and walk the streets of Geneva or Vaud.
II. VETERINARIANS ----------------------- First step is to find a vet close to your residence:
An appointment with the vet will be necessary to convert the different paperwork, health certificate and microchip and vaccinations, blood tests etc. to the Swiss Red Pet Passport. Once completed, your pet can travel anywhere in Europe.
III. RED SWISS PET PASSPORT ----------------------- You have now a red color pet passport. The vet has converted all the different vaccination and blood test if any to this new passport. Please remember this is not a nationality of the pet but only an identification.
IV.LIABILITY INSURANCE ----------------------- Get a quote or you can purchase a liability insurance (assurance resposibilité civile) from many different Swiss insurances who offer this.
V.DOG LICENCE ----------------------- 3rd step is to present yourself at:

b. Documents needed * private liability insurance certificate (assurance resposibilité civile) * Pet Passport (Red Swiss Pet Passport) * health certificate with updated vaccination records * microchip identification document
VI. TRAVELS & MOVE ----------------------- Dogs must wear the license attached to the collar at all times in public places. License fees are set by the canton. The license is valid for a year and should be renewed annually in January. With the pet passport, color and private liability, you may now travel all over Europe.
